Salary: Salary range is $84,000 to $105,000. Benefits include pension contributions and agency-paid premiums for employee and family health, dental, vision, life, and LTD. Other voluntary employee benefits are available. MUTD offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Description: The Missoula Urban Transportation District is seeking a dynamic leader for the position of Director of Finance and Administration. MUTD is governed by a seven-member board of directors appointed by the city council and county commissioners. Operated by MUTD, Mountain Line provides zero-fare fixed-route and paratransit bus service in and around Missoula and the University of Montana, helping employees get to work, students get to school, and keeping seniors and people with disabilities active and mobile. Missoula is a unique and vibrant mountain community with incredible personality, rich history, a lively arts and culture scene, and world-class year-round recreation opportunities. This western Montana town is known for friendly local vibes, breathtaking scenery and wide-open spaces.

Duties and Responsibilities: This senior management position works directly with the General Manager and assists in the determination and implementation of short and long-range goals and strategies and has the overall responsibility for managing and providing leadership to the agency’s administration department. The position provides leadership to the agency’s staff as it relates to policies and procedures, and administers and oversees the finance functions, asset management, and human relations program.

Qualifications: Must have experience in management and supervision, budgeting, planning, and policy administration. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA is preferred. Transit industry knowledge is preferred. Five years’ experience in accounting principles and practices and business administration is preferred.
