Description: The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Construction Division, Geotechnical Office in Tumwater, Wash., is currently seeking an experienced geotechnical engineer to fill a managerial vacancy. This position is an assistant to the State Geotechnical Engineer and provides strategic and tactical management of the Geotechnical Design, Project Development and Technical Services Section.

Duties and Responsibilities: This position directs the execution of comprehensive geotechnical engineering studies and implements statewide geotechnical policies and procedures. These design policy development efforts also include interacting with state and national geotechnical design code producing organizations, developing and managing geotechnical research projects to develop and improve the technology used, and implementing these new technologies.
