Description: City of Sugar Land, Texas seeks an Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities: The ideal candidate shall be a progressive, innovative data-driven leader in transportation and traffic management with excellent management and problem-solving skills! The Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Manager will be responsible for the operation and continuous development of the city’s Intelligent Transportation System and will oversee the daily operations of the Traffic Management Center (TMC) to include supervising a Traffic Management Center Operator and Traffic Management Analyst. The ITS Manager will be involved in all associated projects directly or indirectly affecting the City’s ITS and transportation network and infrastructure.

Qualifications: Requires a bachelor’s degree in transportation, traffic engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university. One to two years of progressively responsible experience with a focus on traffic operations engineering. A Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain an Engineer in Training certificate within 18 months from date of hire for engineering candidates.
