Description: The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Multimodal Planning Division seeks a Senior Multimodal Planner. We are seeking a highly skilled, critical thinking and independent candidate for our Senior Multimodal Planner – Transportation Planning Specialist 5 position in Olympia, Wash.

Duties and Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Statewide Planning Manager, this position will inform agency decisions and support a sustainable and integrated multimodal transportation system through the development of statewide planning policy and the coordination of statewide modal and system plans for WSDOT. This work ensures WSDOT statewide plans meet state and federal planning requirements. This position also leads efforts to develop and implement new performance-based and collaborative approaches to statewide planning, resulting in better alignment of WSDOT’s investment policies and project development decisions with regional partners. It directs the work of project teams and is responsible for development of work programs, determining the scope of policy and planning initiatives, and establishing completion dates for programs and projects. This position develops collaborative working relationships across WSDOT divisions and regions and with external regional partners.
