Description: Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County seeks a Transit Planner II.
Duties and Responsibilities: The purpose of this job is to research and prepare information related to planning functions within the Transit Department. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to providing transit planning for the Athens Transit System, ensuring the system’s compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, writing and administering federal and state grants and completing grant reimbursements, reviewing and developing transit system short and long-range plans from a transit-oriented perspective, system service monitoring, reviewing local plans, assisting and directing developers, approving permits, and performing additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in urban/regional transit, transportation, or related planning field with two years of professional work related experience required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for the job. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
