Description: The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Headquarters’ Survey and Mapping Office, located in Tumwater, Wash., is seeking an experienced candidate to fill the vacancy of Geodetic Technician – Transportation Technician 3 (In-Training).

Duties and Responsibilities: This position serves as an instrument operator, survey party member and technical expert for geodetic, photogrammetric, bathymetric, LiDAR, specialty control, mapping, and monitoring surveys statewide. This position will also act as liaison for the Geodetic Survey Office and its customers, both internal and external to WSDOT. The HQ Survey and Mapping Office is a specialty statewide cost recovery center. The office is responsible for the development and maintenance of the geographic framework that provides the up to date statewide datum reference for WSDOT project delivery, establishing geodetic survey control, bathymetric, photogrammetric and Three Dimensional Terrestrial Lidar (3DTL) as built mapping technology and structural monitoring for WSDOT project delivery.
