Description: The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is looking for a well-established IT professional to fill its Applications Modernization Manager position located in Tumwater, Wash.

Duties and Responsibilities: Within Enterprise Applications, the WSDOT Application Modernization Manager works within a complex environment on a tactical level to promote program delivery and operation. This position directly supports the WSDOT IT Enterprise Vision of promoting an innovative technology enterprise enabling a safe, sustainable, and integrated multimodal transportation system for Washington travelers.

Qualifications: The WSDOT IT Application Modernization Manager ensures application services are driven by business requirements and constantly evaluated for efficiencies, improvements, upgrades, and/or discontinuation. This position conducts strategic planning, application architecture, application security, policy development, operation and maintenance as well as services delivered over the internet and the 511 telephone system. These services support WSDOT Operations and provide essential traveler information services to the public to promote safety and reduce traffic congestion. It also leads major statewide application development projects, programs, and processes with significant business impact involving cross-functional teams and establishes operating policies.
