Description: The Washington State Department of Transportation Office of Equal Opportunity (OEO) is seeking to fill a vital role within the division. They are seeking an experienced and passionate professional for the role of Community Engagement and Environmental Justice Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities: The purpose of this position is to provide coordination, monitoring, review, and oversight to all aspects of the departments policies, procedures, programs, projects and services for compliance with the non-discrimination provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, including Limited English Proficiency and Environmental Justice. This includes monitoring and oversight of all recipients who receive federal funds through WSDOT including cities, counties, Local Planning agencies, Metropolitan Planning Organizations, Regional Transportation Planning Organizations, and others. This Manager, using exceptional project management skills, will work with staff to enhance the agency’s’ Title VI, Environmental Justice and Limited English Proficiency Programs.

Qualifications: The incumbent will be an experienced manager and coach with exceptional communication and mediation skills. This position will also be responsible for managing WSDOT’s Pre-Apprenticeship Support Services Program, Equal Employment Opportunity Program, Capacity Building Mentorship Program, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Support Services Program and On-the-Job Training Support Services Program.
