Description: The Washington State Department of Transportation seeks a Mobile and Web Applications Developer.

Duties and Responsibilities: The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Information Technology Division (ITD) provides the technology tools that help the employees of WSDOT do their work. The staff keeps the technology lights on in support of the agency’s day-to-day work and provides innovative technology solutions that enable the agency to meet challenging business requirements and achieve results. The GIS Mobile and Web Application Developer through consultation with the business stakeholders, creates, supports and maintains mobile and web applications with an emphasis in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technologies aligning with agency GIS standards, used by statewide and regional WSDOT Maintenance Operations Division personnel.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will meet with end users and business areas in order to specify what is required for new and existing applications. The duties include requirements gathering, application design, SQL database design, application coding, testing, deployment, implementing and supporting mobile and web GIS technologies, and maintenance of the completed application in an iterative and interactive style of development.
