1. Briefly tell us about your role and responsibilities at CTAA.
a) My role as CFO is to oversee the financial operation of the Association. I have the privilege of working with four colleagues who make our organization thrive fiscally within our unit. I get the chance to do some routine items like closing each month and also to do some occasional tasks like picking a new auditor so the role is always full of challenges.

2. What is your favorite part of your job? What is most challenging?
a) Most challenging for me is managing the commute as I come from the Philadelphia area when working in our D.C. headquarters. My favorite part of the job is solving the challenge du jour.

3. How do you commute to CTAA HQ?
a) I drive into the office; on occasion using our 2007 Ford Mustang, but mainly using a trusted Ford Edge. Pre-covid I drove into Largo, Maryland and took the Metro in and out of the office. I work two or three days in the office and stay over in Largo for the evening (s).

4. What’s one thing you’re learning now or learned recently?
a) Learning every day. I learned today we have some new regulations in the works that will be added to the Uniform Guidance we follow before year end*. This means Lena will digest and see what impact it may have for our operation; I’ll review this with her and once we are on the same page we’ll roll this out to the staff.

5. What two nonessential items would you want if you were shipwrecked on a deserted island?
a) I like my Starbucks, not sure how it might get to this deserted island but I sure would like that. Can’t imagine being separated too long from my twin six year old granddaughters so it would be nice to have them drop onto the island to keep things constantly moving. Me and the twins in the picture!
