CTAA's PASS Program
The CTAA (PASS) program is a two-component program in order to be fully certified. Drivers are taught in both sensitivity skills (basic online) ambulatory training and wheelchair securement non-ambulatory training. The wheelchair securement and mobility device training class is not a stand alone class and is only taught in person in the classroom. All testing materials and certificate documents must be CTAA generated forms as listed under the CTAA (PASS) guidelines.
OPTION 1
Two-day classroom certification training: In this format, the trainee attends a two-day in person class in sensitivity skills training, as well as wheelchair securement and lift operation procedures conducted by a certified CTAA (PASS) Trainer. The training materials include driver training manuals and test forms that are emailed within 48 hours of receipt of an order. The driver's manual becomes the property of the trainee. Completed tests are submitted via email and graded at CTAA's offices. The certification document is issued via email and is valid for two years.

OPTION 2
Online PASS Basic training plus half-day classroom certification training: In this format, in order to obtain full PASS driver certification, the trainee must complete the self-paced PASS basic online training course in sensitivity skills PLUS attend in person a half-day course on wheelchair securement and lift operation procedures conducted by a certified CTAA (PASS) Trainer. Training materials include driver training manuals and test forms that are emailed within 48 hours of receipt of an order. The driver's manual becomes the property of the trainee. Completed tests along with the (CTAA) PASS basic online document are submitted via email and graded at CTAA's offices. The half-day wheelchair securement training must be completed within 3 months of when the basic online certificate is issued. The certification document is issued via email and is valid for two years.
